In solidarity with the movements who proclaim that Black Lives Matter, Faith for Justice and our partners are sponsoring a march on south Saint Louis, near the Grand & Gravois divide. We join organizations around the world calling for racial equity, including an end to biased policing and the state-sanctioned degrading of black and brown lives.
We are also are supporting a faith-rooted teach-in, inspired by Dr. King’s sermon “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution” which we interpret as a call to “get woke” and stay that way. Among our many honored guests will be Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, Rev. Traci Blackmon, Rev. Bum Yong Kim of Outpour Church, and others. The St. Louis Mass Choir will provide music.
The march will begin at 4:00 pm starting at New City Fellowship South at 3502 Grace Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116.
The faith rooted teach-in, which will be based in the Christian tradition, will start at 6:00 pm at Metro Christian Worship Center at 3452 Potomac St, St. Louis, MO 63118.
